The BC Centre for Food & Beverage Marketers tour will allow food & beverage industry professionals to have an inside look at two influential businesses, learn about trends shaping our market place and enjoy a unique educational experience.

The tour, which will be held on 21st of February 2011, will allow food & beverage industry professionals to have an inside look at two influential businesses. At the event, you will learn about trends shaping our food & beverage market place and enjoy a unique educational experience.

The story of Rogers Sugar - whose refinery has been on Vancouver's waterfront for more than 100 years - begins back in 1881. Tours to the public ended a dozen years ago...this is your opportunity to see one of the founding industries in Vancouver! Learn how raw sugar is transported from tropical countries to our port, where it is refined and packaged. As the largest sugar refinery in Canada, Rogers produces a wide variety of products.

The second stop features a demonstration and tasting. With her worldwide culinary education, successful cooking school, unique wholesale foods business, and exuberant personality Caren McSherry is one of the best known names in the Canadian culinary industry. Caren's Cooking School is the longest running private school in Canada. She also owns the successful Gourmet Warehouse, offering specialty foods at wholesale prices to the public—the first of its type in Canada.
