Kiwi Commons Partners with Internet Control Engine (ICE) to Promote Youth Safety on the Web
Internet safety software offers simple parental controls with community involvement

MARKHAM, ON, CANADA, September 18, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- KiwiCommons.com, a website that provides the most up-to-date youth Internet safety news and resources, is proud to announce its partnership with Internet Control Engine (ICE), a new community-powered web filtering tool for parents and educators. Acting cooperatively, Kiwi and ICE are able to provide a simple yet effective education and software based solution to the growing risks young people face online.

Rather than requiring parents and teachers to block, or "blacklist," every website they don't want their kids to see, ICE's exclusive whitelisting technology allows them to create a safe, customized web space full of content they approve of. They can also choose from preloaded safe lists compiled by Internet safety advocates, parents and teachers.

"Kiwi Commons is dedicated to providing Internet safety education directly to schools and families through hands-on learning and the utilization of online resources," said Bill Madden, founder of Kiwi Commons. "We want people to recognize that Internet safety isn't just a matter of choosing between education and software, it's actually a combination of the two."

Covering topics such as privacy, social media, exploitation, and Internet 101, KiwiCommons.com provides parents, youth and teachers with the educational materials and resources to take a proactive approach to online safety. The site also provides an Experts Panel to deliver practical guidance and support.

"Today's young people face a growing number of Internet safety risks online," said John Madden, President of ICE. "Our Internet filtering software addresses these issues in an effective and proactive way. Matching Kiwi Commons' vision, together we can foster responsible web use by cultivating open dialogue between young people and adults."

ICE beta software is available as a 30-day free trial at www.InternetControlEngine.com. After the trial, ICE will be available for a subscription fee of $10/month.
