Polytronics Engineering Ltd. to Address Growing Concern of Thermal Runaway across North America
Polytronics Engineering is pleased to announce, the first thermal runaway monitoring device of its kind in North America, the FS3 (Factstar 3). Polytronics has decided to mass produce the product based on market demand.

MARKHAM, ON, CANADA, July 02, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Due to market demand by both customers and leaders in the power industry, Polytronics has decided to produce the FS3 on a large scale, with intentions of mass distribution across North America. The FS3 is the first of its kind in the world, and is the only cost effective way of detecting pending thermal runaway in battery and mission critical environments. "Our corporate mandate has always been to address the power monitoring needs of our clients, and based on overwhelming requests from our client base, we made the decision to move forward with the FS3 on a mass production basis" says Zbigniew Noworolski, President and Founder of Polytronics Engineering.

Thermal runaway is a condition caused by a battery float current that produces more
internal heat than the battery can dissipate. As a result of temperature rise the float current is increased even further, therefore generating more heat. This condition may ultimately cause battery overheating, melt down or even fire. Refer to section 608.3 of The International Fire Code for regulation regarding this condition.

Polytronics Engineering Ltd. Was founded in 1979 as a solutions provider to the power industry. Its core business has always been battery monitoring equipment and power related testing equipment. It introduced the original Factstar in 1999 as a cost effective battery monitoring solution, and since then, has introduced 2 upgraded versions, with the most recent model addressing the issue of Thermal Runaway.
