    COPENHAGEN, DENMARK, November 21, 2008 /Canada PR News/ -- Armorlogic, makers of Profense and Profense Professional web application firewall solutions, today announced the release of the new Profense version 2.6, containing an expanded feature set including negative filtering and adaptive learning. Profense is the base version of its web application firewall software that already includes HTTP load balancing with session persistence, positive filtering and automated learning.

"We have expanded the features in response to customer feedback" said Jakob Gercke, CEO and co-founder of Armorlogic. "Negative filtering and adaptive learning were previously available only in Profense Pro but, with the help of our customers, we have concluded this functionality is fundamental to any effective web security solution and should be available in both versions."

Negative filtering detects and stops attacks based on signatures. As a complementary function to positive filtering, negative filtering allows for out-of-the-box protection against known attacks like SQL injection and Cross Site Scripting.

Adaptive learning continuously and automatically improves the protection and operation of a site by updating security policies on the fly as it adapts and learns about changing web applications.

Armorlogic has also extended its free trial period for Profense Pro from 30 to 60 days to encourage customers to experience the added features and performance of its Professional version. "Our customers told us they wanted more time to experience the many features of our Pro version and subject it to more challenges" said Srebrenko Sehic, CTO and co-founder of Armorlogic. "We are confident that the more the customer uses Profense or Profense Pro, the more they will appreciate its ease of use, low maintenance and superior performance". Profense Professional was also upgraded to now include XML support.
